When Nicolas Ghesquière first presented the City bag to Balenciaga's management in 2001, they flatly rejected it — calling it too soft, too light, and too lacking in structure. Ghesquière convinced them to produce just 25 prototypes to be carried on the runway and gifted to a handful of models, editors, and friends. It only went into full production after Kate Moss spotted the bag during the show and ordered one directly from Ghesquière — single-handedly changing the executives' tune. The rest is fashion history. The Metallic Edge hardware was introduced in 2014 as one of the most elevated and covetable variations of the City — and this Mini edition in rare forest green croc-embossed leather is as striking and rare as the City gets. 🌿🇫🇷
